MODENA is a two-ply twisted SUPERLIGHT Lace yarn made of superfine merino wool with 18.5 microns and 30% cashmere. The carded yarn with a meterage of 335 m on only 25 g gets its unique lightness through an innovative manufacturing method by which the temperature-regulating and breathable properties of merino wool are supported positively. The generous addition of cashmere makes the grip even softer and give the yarn its noble, silky matt surface.

The mulesing-free raw merino wool for MODENA is sourced from selected Australian shepherds, the cashmere raw from Mongolia and China The raw wool used is certified regarding animal welfare, sustainability, and social responsibility. We have it spun and dyed according to the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 for baby products by a family-run traditional company in Italy.

Due to its light weight, the noble mixture of merino superfine and cashmere can be used extraordinarily versatile. Knitted with one-stranded, it creates the most delicate lace projects, worked double-stranded it results in Fingering weight, perfect for airy lightweight all-season knitting.

MODENA particularly shines as an exclusive accompanying yarn and fits perfectly with our Super-Kid mohair yarn PREMIA. But also COMO, MILANO and our alpaca yarns PIURA and CUSI are perfect for noble combinations.  

LAMANA color world: Due to the carefully coordinated colors, our qualities can be combined very harmoniously with each other, but also offer the possibilities of light nuances and strong contrasts.

Care: Modena can be washed in the washing machine using the wool cycle at 30°. The wool then blooms again and becomes noticeably softer, fluffier and the knitting pattern even more dense. We recommend the use of a neutral, mild wool detergent without enzymes and plasticizers, in very low doses. Then dry the knitted piece gently lying flat and avoid direct sunlight.
