MILANO is a two-ply twisted SUPERLIGHT fingering yarn made of superfine merino wool with 18.5 microns and 10% cashmere. The carded yarn with a meterage of 180 m on only 25 g gets its unique lightness through an innovative manufacturing method. The temperature-regulating and breathable properties of merino wool are supported positively. The addition of cashmere makes the grip even softer and reinforces the light wool fluff, through which the yarn gets its noble, silky matt surface.

The mulesing-free raw merino wool for MILANO is sourced from selected Australian shepherds, the cashmere raw wool from Mongolia or China. The raw wool used is certified regarding animal welfare, sustainability, and social responsibility. We have it spun and dyed according to the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 for baby products by a family-run traditional company in Italy.

Due to its weight, our luxurious blend of Merino Superfine and Cashmere is very versatile. Knitted individually, it is great for delicate scarves and incomparably soft and light garments and accessories for the whole year. Knitted double-stranded, MILANO offers a DK weight and is therefore a good choice for many designs that are warm and cuddly for the colder season.

For an extra portion of fluff and even more softness, MILANO can be wonderfully knitted with our Super-Kid mohair yarn PREMIA, but also COMO, MODENA and our alpaca yarns PIURA and CUSI are perfectly suited for combinations.  

LAMANA color world: Due to the carefully coordinated colors, our qualities can be combined very harmoniously with each other, but also offer the possibilities of light nuances and strong contrasts.

Care: MILANO can be washed in the washing machine at 30°. The wool then blooms again and becomes noticeably softer, fluffier and the knitting pattern even more dense. We recommend the use of a neutral, mild wool detergent without enzymes and plasticizers, in very low doses. Then dry the knitted piece gently lying flat and avoid direct sunlight.
